The Chapel is the Cookie Jar’s ‘must stay’ super-suite. The Mother Superior of all suites can be found on the first floor. Featuring all the beautiful features of the former chapel, such as stain glass windows and carved wooden beams, it’s the perfect place to rest your head in Northumberland.

You’ll find drench showers with higher powers and a heavenly bath tub for the perfect soak in the under floor heated bathroom. So you can sit back and relax in fluffy robes after a soak in the tub. And when it comes to catching 40 winks there’s a custom designed, luxurious bed to lay your head.

Taking inspiration from the reputed final resting place of the renowned monk of Lindisfarne, St Cuthbert’s Cave is an outcrop of Sandstone Rock, supported by an isolated pillar of Stone which held his body for a short period in AD875 following Viking raids in the region.

St Cuthbert’s Cave can be found on the third floor at The Cookie Jar is a large and luxurious room has views over the courtyard and onto Alnwick Castle. It features a Super King Size bed for a restful sleep, and a spacious four-piece bathroom suite with a heavenly bath tub for the perfect soak.

The Linhope Spout room is inspired by the spectacular Northumberland waterfall of the same name. It tumbles 18 meters down a rock face to the bottomless plunge pool below. It’s the perfect spot for a picnic and a stroll and one of the Cook family’s favourite places to escape to. Don’t forget your camera. You’ll want to capture its beauty.

The Linhope Spout room is one of our Mother Superior rooms and is large and luxurious.

With south-facing with views of Alnwick Castle, this room has a four-piece bathroom suite with a heavenly bath tub for the perfect soak and features a Super King Size bed for a sound sleep, which can also be converted to a twin. Located on the second floor.

It is light and spacious and is west facing with a view of Bailiffgate. With its large configuration, it holds a Super King Size Bed and a beautifully roomy bathroom. Located on the first floor.

Bailiffgate is not just the road on which The Cookie Jar is situated, but is an integral part of the town’s history and one of the places the Cook family fell in love with. They hope you do too.

Debbie and family named this room after one of the finest sights in Northumberland. Bamburgh hosts one of the UK’s most iconic castles and a beach like no other. Home to a host of dunes and wildlife, you can even travel to the world famous Farne Islands. The Cook family love to visit here and are sure you will fall in love with it too.

Holy Island takes its name from the tidal island just off the Northumberland Coast. With a rich and far reaching history going back as far as 6th century AD, it has played an important role in Christianity in Northumberland and now hosts a small castle, which was built in 1550. A popular place to visit and highly recommended.

This beautiful, sunny room located on the first floor, with a south facing bay window revealing views of Alnwick Castle. This room also includes a Super King Size Bed for a peaceful night’s sleep.

The Goswick room name was inspired by the inspirational home golf club of the Cookie Jar owners for over 20 years. The course was designed by James Braid and is one of the finest links courses in Northumberland. As one of their favourite courses, they would thoroughly recommend it.

You’ll find the Goswick room located on second floor, this is a specially adapted room for accessibility, offering a spacious bedroom and bathroom. It has views over Bailiffgate and features a Super King Size bed, which can also be converted to a twin.

Named after the 14th century castle found between the villages of Craster and Embleton. Dunstanburgh was built by Earl Thomas of Lancester between 1313 and 1322 and takes advantage of the sites natural beauty and defences.

Alnmouth was once a leading North East centre for export, which turned into a fishing village, and with the advent of railways, it became a premier Northumberland coastal resort. A great place to visit during your stay.

You’ll find this cosy room located on the third floor, you can enjoy picturesque views over the roof tops of Alnwick, full of charisma and features exposed beams, and a perfectly considered King Size bed.

The shooting fields of Harehope have been enjoyed many a time by the owner for over 20 years. Owned by the Wrangham family, its terrain and crags make it one of his favourite places to relax, shoot and socialise with his nearest and dearest.

From your Harehope room, you can enjoy picturesque views over the roof tops of Alnwick. This charming, cosy room can be found on the third floor and is full of charisma and features exposed beams and a super-comfortable double bed.
