The first and founding inspiration for the Chestnut Collection, The Packhorse Inn remains the patriarch of the family - after all it's where it all began.

Award winning food, inspired by season and soil, is served from breakfast through to dinner by our cheerfully, thoughtful team members. Always on hand to recommend the perfect pairing of menu and cellar offerings.

Small King

Folly is a cosy bedroom, with a King bed in the main pub building. A traditional sash window overlooks our garden and the solid oak floor is complimented by a scatter rug, large wardrobe and antique writing desk. Folly has a standalone bath in the room; perfect for couples. Plus an en-suite with toilet and wash-basin. All bedrooms come with complimentary Connock bathroom products for use during your stay and a tea and coffee station that includes a coffee machine.

Medium King

Our former coach house is home to four individually styled bedrooms. Each room has a large King bed and underfloor heating. Set away from the pub and opening directly onto the courtyard these rooms are ideal for guests staying with dogs. All bedrooms come with complimentary Connock bathroom products for use during your stay and a tea and coffee station that includes a coffee machine.

Medium Twin

Our former coach house is home to four individually styled bedrooms. Each room has a large King bed, with Kennet offering a twin option, and underfloor heating. Set away from the pub and opening directly onto the courtyard these rooms are ideal for guests staying with dogs. Our newly built barn situated behind the pub is home to individually styled bedrooms set across the ground floor and first floor. They all have en-suites with large walk-in showers. Each room has a large bed.. These bedrooms are dog-friendly. Large Twin

Luxury Primrose

This room overlooks the 15th-century Packhorse Bridge and the village green. The luxury of Primrose is evident everywhere, from the upholstered king-size double bed and stone double-ended bath to the antique wooden screen and oversized mirror. The bathroom area has a spacious walk-in shower together with an antique towel rail and a separate loo. All bedrooms come with complimentary Connock bathroom products for use during your stay and a tea and coffee station that includes a coffee machine. This room is a favourite with brides the night before the wedding. The morning light is superb for getting ready for the big day.

Luxury Warren

The drama of this huge room, with its tall ceiling, chandelier, and cavernous oak-floored bathroom, never ceases to surprise guests. The bathroom features a stone double-ended bath (easily big enough for two), a spacious walk-in shower area, an antique towel rail, a toilet, and a wash basin. All bedrooms come with complimentary Connock bathroom products for use during your stay and a tea and coffee station that includes a coffee machine. This room is perfect for wedding nights, special anniversaries, or just if you fancy something a little more special.

Accessible King

Our accessible bedroom is located in the newly built barn behind the pub. The room is spacious with a large bed that can be twinned. The bathroom is a wet room. There is allocated parking just outside. The pub is 400 meters away from the barn over gravel with a slope or stairs at the midway point. There is an accessible toilet in the pub - the restaurant can be reached without steps. Luxury Plantation

Plantation is located in the main building on the first floor looking over the village green. It is home to painted antique furniture, rattan king-size double bed and large decorative mirrors that create a wonderfully relaxed environment. This room has a large en-suite bathroom with a bath and walk-in shower.
