This is a large room on the ground floor of the stables with its own south facing paved terrace.
The Terrace Room is a very brightly decorated room with William Morris wallpapers and fabrics. The floor is solid oak. The room has an entrance hall and then a small step down to the main bedroom which benefits from double doors out to the patio.
The bathroom is spacious with a large walk in shower, vanity unit and toilet.

Named after Francis Gordon Peake a former owner of St Johns House from Walsall Wood, a very poular figure in the community from 1875 – 1953

This room is on the first floor of the Stables and has exposed beams and trusses with sky lights, very popular cosy room with very comfortable thick pile carpet.

Here you sleep in a King size bed with a Vi-Spring mattress dressed with a down and feather quilt and pillows* and Egyptian cotton. Please note the ceiling is sloping in part.

Free Wi-fi, tea/coffee making facilities, fridge with fresh milk and water. Hair dryer, bath slippers, bathrobes supplied.

Holmes Room is on the first floor of the Stable Block, and is the only Single room in St Johns. The room is not designed for guests over 6ft , it has a single sleigh bed with Vi-Spring mattress. Please note the ceiling is sloping in part. Holmes room is not designed for our long stay guests. the room is fully en suite with walk in shower

This room is our most flexible room in terms of accommodation, it is furnished with both a King Size Bed and has an adjoining room that is furnished with a Single Bed, so it’s ideal as a twin room, or a family room with a young family the small room has a single bed but also enough space for a cot if necessary. The single room is also self contained with its own fitted wardrobe.
The ensuite bathroom serves both rooms and has both a shower and a bath perfect for ‘Bath Time’ for children

It is believed around 1698 St Johns House went by the name of the Bear Inn and one of the three stage coach services from Lichfield was ran by Giles Tottingham, called the Lichfield Flying Wagon and this was ran from the Bear Inn. The Tottingham room is on the first floor, at the rear of the main house and benefits from fantastic high ceilings the room has a wonderful original fireplace and a beautiful Palazzo free standing bath within the room. This room doesn’t have a stand up shower other than a hand held shower. This room is very much for guests who enjoy a soak in the bath. It has a fantastic original king-size brass bed; The stunning blinds made from Timorous Beasties fabric bring the room to life with their beautiful colours set against the neutral coloured walls.

There is no other reason for the name of this room, other than its named after the paint colour used to paint one of the walls, Peacock Blue.

The Peacock room is another spacious room with high ceilings in the main house furnished with a beautiful 17th Century Brass bed that is set against the stunning Peacock blue wall, the restored original hob grate fireplace set against vibrant Graham and Brown wallpaper is also a wonderful feature of this room.

Again this room benefits from a lot of natural light and has a relaxing seating area to enjoy a glass of wine and the newspaper!

The bathroom is a fully integrated wet room with a Hans Grohe power shower, heated radiator, and shaving mirror

Local records show that in 1860 the house was owned by Frederick Simmonds an iron merchant. The Simmonds Room is dressed with timeless William Morris Fabrics and Wallpaper with an impressive Emperor Corbiere Bed which is a 7ft bed, renovated by Dan and is complimented by original painted French antique bedside cabinets. The Simmonds room is full of colour with a very spacious seating area perfect for a longer stay, the bathroom is a fully integrated wet room with power shower heated mirror and towel rail.

Standard double located in the main house furnished with a beautifully restored 5ft Victorian Mahagony bed. This is the only room in the house with its own separate private bathroom located directly opposite the bedroom(two footsteps) Bathrobes are provided!. The private bathroom benefits from a 1.8 meter bath with over head power shower and over sized sink and heated mirror. The Victoria is ideal for a short stay, please note the bedroom is not ensuite

Francis Room was previously staff quarters when St Johns House was formerly a Prep School. Located on the Second floor of the house the room benefits from a beautiful Super king Walnut Berger Bed, and a cosy additional sitting area with TV and a large working desk with network point. Francis Room is ensuite with a walk-in power shower and is certainly a very spacious room, but very intimate, perfect for a two-night stay or more.

Elizabeth Coyney was a resident of the St Johns in 1888. Located on the second floor Coyney is a very spacious room with a Super King Size Bed and original fireplace. The room is dressed with wonderful Timorous Beasties Fabrics. Due to the space in this room there is a good-sized working desk and fitted wardrobe. There is also a large Leather Sofa and comfy chair to enjoy watching your favourite programme on the 52-inch TV. The room is perfect for a one-night stay but it’s certainly large enough to stay longer.

The St John Room is located on the second floor is the very best room in the main house mainly due to the wonderful space that you have. The room is separated into two, the spacious bedroom is dressed with beautiful Timorous Beastie Fabrics and has a wonderful antique Italian 7ft bed which looks out onto the gardens. The bedroom is complimented by a bathroom and changing area that is the same size as the bedroom. This space is perfect for a long stay.
