Overview

Village cricket, famously the hub of an English rural community, The Cricketers lives up to its namesake. Steeped in a history of family, fine food and exceptional hospitality we look forward to introducing you to our newly refurbished interiors.

The bar and dining areas have been sympathetically updated, reimagined spaces, inspired by the original 16th century fabric of the building. Brickwork and beams complimented by copper, wood paneling and gentle colours and textures, Our bedrooms, also refreshed, bringing the Essex countryside, inside with floral and botanical inspired fabrics, papers and paints.

Hospitality remains at the centre of all we do, delivered by The Cricketers familiar and much loved team, seasoned players looking forward to welcoming you back.

Better Double

Modern in style, our 'Better' rooms are based in our Courtyard and Pavillion, right next to the pub. The en suite rooms in the courtyard are pet friendly and all on ground level. Our Pavillion rooms are situated on the ground floor and first floor. All rooms are just a short distance from the pub, where you can enjoy a hearty breakfast, lunch or tuck into a delicious evening meal. All bedrooms come with complimentary Connock bathroom products for use during your stay and a tea and coffee station that includes a coffee machine.

Better Double / Twin

Modern in style, our 'Better' rooms are based in our Courtyard and Pavillion, right next to the pub. The en suite rooms in the courtyard are pet friendly and all on ground level. Best King

Our ‘Best' rooms’ are situated in The Willows and all have individual touches and a king bed. Some of the rooms in The Willow also have a table and chairs outside, allowing you to sit, relax and admire the beautiful views of the farmland at the rear. One of our 'Best' rooms has been specifically designed to accommodate visitors who are less mobile, features a large modern wet room and parking close by. All bedrooms come with complimentary Connock bathroom products for use during your stay and a tea and coffee station that includes a coffee machine.
